50 Cent Says He "Disabled" Lloyd Banks & Tony Yayo
50 Cent also explains how "New Day" was originally meant for Dr. Dre's "Detox."
50 Cent recently said that Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayoneed to "get themselves together," stating that he hasn't spoken with his G-Unit crew in months. During an interview with XXLMag.com, Fif faults himself for closing the lines of communication, but states that he did so much for their careers that they lost the will to promote themselves.
"I actually haven’t spoke to ‘em very much. I’m to fault for that, though. I think I disabled them," he said. "I did so much for them that they don’t have a continuous work ethic. They got both of those tapes out there, but did you see any visuals? Anything? There’s certain things that the new guy is doing to create momentum or energy. They just sit there and wait. When someone works for you, you have the habit of dealing with things by not dealing with them. You may get in the regimen of coming over and doing it for them."
He also talked about "New Day" featuring Alicia Keys and Dr. Dre, the lead single from his upcoming album Street King Immortal. He revealed that the record was originally intended for Detox, but that it had a better home on his own project.
"The actual track was produced originally for [Dr. Dre's album] Detox. I was actually recording with Dre for his record and when he played it, it had a chorus that was a little darker. When he sent it to her, Alicia sent it back with 'New Day' and it had additional strings on it. He wasn’t sure that he wanted to use it because of creatively where he was at on his project. I was like, 'I can use that' because it would be the bright side of what I’m offering in my body of work. He was like, 'Okay, take it then.' Obviously, it was a hit. They’re sitting on it and after a while, she recorded additional verses and leaked the record."
2 Chainz Wants To Do More Songs Like Justin Bieber's "Boyfriend," But Also Wants Less Features
In a recent interview, 2 Chainz explained why he'd like to do more songs like Justin Bieber's "Boyfriend" and added that he wants to do less features now that his name is well known.
For awhile, 2 Chainz was a featured guest on many songs by various artists. His catchphrase caught on. His guest verses were welcomed by many. Recently, Chainz talked about why he decided to be on so many tracks to begin with and why he's deciding to make less featured appearances now.
“My whole theory behind doing guest features was to remain hot in the streets,” he explained to CBS Local, ”actually being a part of everyone’s google. When you google them, my name would pop up."
One of the songs he did that he's proud of is the Justin Bieber song "Boyfriend," which he says was a challenge.
“The Justin Bieber verse was something I could do,” he noted. “The challenge was doing a clean witty verse without cursing, and to know the fan base and the crowd I was catering to. It was fun. I would love to do more records like that.”
Don't expect 2 Chainz to completely stop working on guest spots. Chainz added that he just wants to make songs that help him now.
“Now it’s about doing features that matter or can help catapult my campaign or doesn’t make sense any more,” he added. “A feature that’s worth me doing would be something that’s outside my genre, something outside my comfort level, outside my box. Pop rock, R&B. Something that’s not a normal 16 [lines] that I feel like I can do ion my sleep.”

Lupe Fiasco To Release New Single "Lamborghini Angels" Next Week

Lupe Fiasco has revealed that his new single "Lamborghini Angels" is slated for release on August 14th.
Taking to Twitter, Lu said that the next single from Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1 will contain content that some might find offensive. "Warning: if you are easily offended or religiously sensitive DO NOT listen to Lamborghini Angels. Contains very disturbing content. Listener discretion is thoroughly advised.
The Chicago, Illinois rapper has already released the singles "Around My Way (Freedom Ain't Free)"and "Bitch Bad" for which a video will be released shortly. Food & Liquor 2 is currently stated for release on September 25th.
